Minecraft (Guide to Enchantments)

 

Today I read the book called Minecraft (Guide to Enchantments) is by Stephanie Milton and Ryan Marsh.

The book talks about information on leveling up in Minecraft and blocks or places that also can level up your character.

The book also talks about leveling up objects in the game.

I enjoyed the book because it gives information on how to level up you character.

L.I to summaries and retell a text.

Basic facts boxes

I completed the speed demon challenge on addition up to 5. My time was 6 minutes and 46 seconds and my score is 98/100.

Next time I could do better if I practice my basic facts so I can answer the questions faster. 

 

AFL Training

On Wednesday we went to practise AFL with coach Mike.

First we learnt how to pass an AFL ball to our partner, On your non Dominant hand you have to face your hand up and put it flat which is where you put the ball and have to make a fist with your dominant hand and have to hit the ball with that hand.

Next coach Mike showed us how to kick, we had to get an AFL ball and make a M with your hands and get the laces away from your face so when you kick you don't hit your face. when you kick you hit your foot on the X part of the ball

Then we played Octopus, There were 4 taggers that got a ball and anyone that runs by they throw the ball at them in order for them to stop. if someone wants to free them they hi five them so they could get to the other side. We finished by practicing kicking the ball at our teacher and the coach! 

I really enjoyed the this because we got to learn skills about AFL.

Prototec

I used Prototec to test my math knowledge. I attempted stage 6 for the test and typed in the answers.

I solved subtraction, division, multiplication and addition problems.

In the end the results were 57/100 and it took 15 minutes and 8 seconds to do the test.

The next time I do this I could practise addition to 1000.

Print Design Rules

I learnt about the Print Deign Rules.

First Mr Wong taught us about the aspects of the Print Design Rules, Colour, layout, text, composition.

Next, I figured out which poster were good and bad with my partners.

Last I reorganised a poster to make it look good.

I enjoyed the task because I learnt how to use text, layout, composition, and colour for Print Design Rules.

Handwriting

 I learned how to write the alphabet, numbers, and symbols properly. 

I watched a video to show neat handwriting. I wrote the characters neatly into my writing book.

I need to practice writing my M, P, and G more neatly because the P and G are not on the line and M is the same size as a lower case M.

LS1's Treaty

We learnt about the 3Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi and how they apply to our learning.

First Mr Ogilvie introduced the 3Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi. They are Protection, Partnership and Participation.

Then in groups we wrote statements about the 3Ps in LS1. LS1 figured out the 3Ps are all connected. 

After that we used our group ideas and thought about how they connected to me.

I chose these 3 statements because they will help me be successful with my learning in LS1. I'll be apart of something that I have never done before.
