Hiwi the kiwi

 My class and I went to the Hiwi the Kiwi show. We met two people one was a man and one where a woman the songs we sang where Kai Moana  Pukeko. The mans favourite food was the black petrel.The student had to answer the questions. They had to get a poster and a sticker if they got the answer the man said to get a water squirt  gun and scare the birds away if they get the bait. The man had a guitar which he used to play some songs. The lessons we had to use where to get a bucket of ice with salt to put the fish in. You need to get a wet  towel with salt.

Visual Language - Tiger

Today we did visual language. We learnt some new words like gaze. gaze is were the character is looking or vector. vector is a line matching with a person or a thing.

Duffy - into the game

On Tuesday we went to a Duffy Assembly. First the people who did the show introduced us to them and then they did the show. Duffy went to her nephews house but then the nephew was playing the game but she wasn't shearing the game. Duffy was wearing their Nan's glasses and got sucked in to the game. He was in the game and the nephew was crying out DUFFY! DUFFY!!! but she couldn't find him so she saw Duffy in the game. The villains in the game were called the puzzler and another villain so she went on here microphone and talked to him through the game. They worked so hard trying to get Duffy out but they had Duffy book of hacks and codes but there were nothing about trying to break him out of the game. After that the nephew went into the game and they both argued about both of them getting stuck in the game and have to last 50 minutes until they get stuck in the game forever. So they picked some kids to hold some letters to make a word and the word was inventor. The mum saw them in the game and broke them out.                                                                                                

S.T.E.A.M Mind Mind

We did a bus stop activity with our class. We used the word S.T.E.A.M.

S.T.E.A.M. means science technology engineering art and math for the bus stop activity.

Spiders are interesting because female spiders have swollen
palps and male spiders don’t. Spiders have 8 legs.
spiders can be poisonous like the western black widow
or brown recluse spider! Even a white tail spider could
be poisonous. You can touch one spider like a tarantula
or daddy long legs there’s another name for the
daddy long legs called  cellar spider. Spiders can be also
found in caves. Spider are arachnids, not insects.
The scariest spider is the Goliath bird eater spider.

Space art

In our class all of us made a space art. It was made of paper for the Moon. White paint to flick on the black paper  for the stars.  coffee filters and Dye for the planets.

Zoo Recount

Zoo Recount

Woosh! First we appeared at the zoo and in our groups.
I was in Kahu’s mum’s group. We went and looked at
some animals like an Otter, Red Pandas and Tuatara. 

First we went to explore the zoo.
We couldn't find the Red Pandas but then we looked up
and it was on the tree. There were two Red Pandas on
the tree and they were sleeping. Then we saw a Kea,
Kiwi and Bat. We saw a Penguin.

We met Hohepa and went to the African part, we saw
the Baboons and Elephants. One Elephant painted a
picture and Hohepa showed it to us. We saw the
Elephants chucking bark on their backs in the Africa
part. The zookeeper handed us paper which I thought
was normal paper but it was Elephant poo paper.

After that we saw Rhinos and they had a big horn on
their head. We saw another animal which looked like a
deer but it didn't have a horn. 

My favorite part was when our group went to the kiwi
section  and my second favourite part was not seeing
the Tarantulas.

  

  

Read Theory July

In read theory my grade level was on two and one my biggest score is grade 3. I need to read the question and find the answer so my results improve.

Today we used pacification in our poem.

Celebrating Matariki

When we were celebrating Matariki the Senior kapa haka performed and Junior kapa haka performed. We watched a video of Matariki. We had a sausage sizzle Whaea Odie and her husband bought the sausages.

Trial and Error

Today we used trial and error to find the number. Trial and error is when you get an answer and you get it wrong and you do another thing and you still get it wrong. We had to get a number to nine and one. some people picked nine seven five and four.
