Problem Solving

Today I used place value, multiplication and written algorithm to figure out a maths equation.

First, I highlighted the main keywords in the story problem. 

Next, I wrote down the number sentence. 8 x 76.

Then, I multplied the ones. 8 x 6 = 48.

Then, I multiplied the tens 8 x 70 = 560.

After, I combined the answers. 560 + 48 = 608.

Lastly, I wrote down the number sentence but with the answer.

I enjoyed this because it helped me alot figure out written algorithm, place value and multiplication questions.

 I created a art pattern called Cubes continue in Space

First, I got insporation from my recent art I made, Cube in Space.

Next, I got a cube shape.

Lastly, I copied and pasted it to add small details to the art.

I enjoyed this activity because I liked how my art looks like.

Problem Solving

SSR Selfie | Pokemon: Race to Danger

I read 32 pages of (Jedi Academy, Revenge of the sis) by Jarrett J. Krosoczka & Amy Ignatow.

This book shows, the Pokemon hot air balloon race is on. And the prize is a rare Dratini. Windy could have won- but Team Rocket took the wind out of the sails.

I enjoyed the book because I really like pokemon and like how they stoped team Rocket.

Litracy CH1

I did the odd things challenge task.

My odd item that I chose is a Champaign opener. I chose this item because it looks very weird in my opinion.

The things I found weird was how it was designed

This task was fun because I got to wonder around my house to find something weird

SSR Selfie | Jedi Academy, Revenge of the Sis

I read 1 chapter and 4 pages of (Jedi Academy, Revenge of the sis) by Jarrett J. Krosoczka & Amy Ignatow.

This book shows, Christina Graduated from the Jedi Academy from the campus on coruscant and is now at the Jedi Academy at Jedha City. The time she's been there she has been given an assignment but screwed it up, now Ro and her droid hates her for that because it was very important.

I really enjoyed the book because it shows the intresting adventure christina had.

Team Problem Solving

 My team and I solved a problem. We solved the problem in three stratgies. The stratagies were place value, written algoritim, and Times Table.

The problem was, A candy store put 9 jars of lollies for a guessing competition. Each jar contained 63 lollies. How many lollies are there altogether?

The first stratagy we used was times tables.

9 x 63 =???

 9 x 63 = 567

I found this hard but enjoyed it because it can help me with solving equations.

Poetry

I did the poetry task. The word that I chose was, Onomatopoeia

First I thought of some colours, next I wrote down the 14 sentences for all the words.

Next time I want to write the sentences more sentence like for the poetry task.

Basic Facts

 I had 97% on subtraction up to 20, my timer was 5min, 37sec, 11 millisec.

Next time I do basic Facts I should practise more and increase my time to get up to 100.

Steps Web

 I did Steps Web activitys.

First I had to Listen to the word then place the letters in the correct order inside the boxes.  This activity was called Drop.

Then I did a activity called Syllables. For this task Words have been broken into syllables. Drag the syllables together to make the words from the wordlist. The words will only snap together when they're correct.

I enjoyed Steps Web because it makes me understand new words.

Cube in Space

I created a art pattern called Cube in Space

First, I searched on google for cube patterns/drawings. I looked at an image with cubes in space.

Next, i made a cube and then copied and pasted it to make a small pattern.

Lastly, I created some small cubes for details.

I enjoyed this activity because I liked how my art turned out.

Inspiration

Team Problem Solving.

My team and I solved a problem. We solved the problem in three stratgies. The stratagies were place value, written algoritim, and rounding and compensating.

The problem was, A farm received a total of 119 millimetres of rain over a 2 month period. If 48 millimetres of rain fell on the farm in June, how many millimetres of rain fell on the farm in month 2?

The first stratagy we used was place value.

119 - 48 = ??

 9 - 8 = 1

 10 - 40 is not possible so we have to add the hundred to the ten.

110 - 40 = 70.
The last step is to combine the answers. 70 + 1 = 71, 71 millimetres fell on the farm on the second month.

I found this hard but enjoyed it because it can help me with solving equations.

Dance Mat Typing

  I completed a typing activity. This activity was about learning to look at the screen and type more often looking at the keyboard and type.

First, I went on the site and started the tutorial on how to type.

Next, I had to find something to cover the keyboard and place my fingers on the home keys.

Lastly, I pasted my results on a google slide and I had to write a description on what I had to imrpove.

This activity was hard becuase I kept on looking at the keyboard, using the wrong letters,

   I read 1 chapter and 15 pages of (The Beast Of Buckingham Palace) by David Wiliams and Tony Ross.

This book shows 

Prince Alfred, a sickly boy of twelve, has never known the life outside of Buckingham Palace. Evil Forces are at work and he must do battle with the king of the Beast - the Griffin

I really enjoyed the book because it shows the intresting and amazing adventure Prince Alfred had.

Tom Gates Spectacular School Trip | SSR Selfie

  I read 1 chapter and 15 pages of (Pres Start, Super Rabbit Boy's Team-up Trouble) by Thomas Flintham.

This book shows a mean Viking king and a queen are trying to steal the ULTRA MEGA EPIC DIAMOND from the center of the planet. The stone is very important as it keeps the world very much safe.

I really enjoyed the book because it shows the intresting and amazing adventure the Super Rabbit Boy and Mega Mole Girl had.

Problem solving

We used place value to solve an equation.

First we start by adding the ones together 4+6=10+7 =17.

Next we add the tens which are 20+20+10=50. Now we add the answers together 17+50=67.

Now we know that she practised for 67 minutes. So now we subtract 67 from 90. 0-7 is impossible to do so we do 10-7=3.

Lastly we do 80-60=20 then we add it together which equals 23 so Leilani needs to practise for another 23 minutes.

I didn't really know what to do so I looked at other peoples and tried getting my own understanding of it.

Madlibs

 My group and I did an activity called madilibs. We had to write down: a girls name, a colour, a kitchen utensil, an action you do to someone, a number under 10, a pop star, and an eating utensil.

First, we wrote down a girl name and a kitchen utensil. The girl name was Jessica and the kitchen utensil was a fork.

Next we wrote down a colour and an action you do to someone. The colour was green and the action was a slap

Then we wrote down  a number under 10 and a pop star.. Our number was 5 and the pop star was Micheal Jackson 

Lastly we wrote down an eating utensil. The eating utensil was a spoon.

Once there was a girl named Jessica. She was at the mall shopping for forks. She overheard the announcer sponsoring an event saying that there would be a contest coming up. The winner gets to slap the one and only Michael Jackson. She loved Michael Jackson! She was Michael Jackson's biggest fan! She ran right over to where the people were. She found out that to win you had to find ten items. She was great at scavenger hunts. She found the first 5 easily. She struggled with the next few. She finally found her last item, a Green Spoon. She ran up and found out she was the first finished. She ran up to the stage and slapped Michael Jackson. She went home smiling from ear to ear. It was the best day of her life.

Fact Find | Gus Nketia

I completed a can-do activity called fact find. This task is about informations about something like a person or a topic. I did a fact find about an athlete called Gus NKetia.

First I wrote in my introduction. Gus Nketia was born in 1970 (50 years) and has 1 sibling.


Next I wrote down five facts about Gabi Rennie. For Example: He competed for New Zealand at the 1994 Commonwealth Games and the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.To finish up I put in the information sources.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt new instresting facts about Gus Nketia

HPE | Thursday Workout

 Today I did the Thursday Workout. The Thursday Workout was just riding on an exersice bike.[

First, I Turned on the bike and started the timer exactl the same time of when it started.

Next, I was on level 4 and got 98% on the pulse.

Lastly, on the last level I got 102% on the pulse.

Next time, I should cycle a lot faster.
